Upcoming changes to Cinderella

We are currently preparing a new version of Cinderella that is mainly a stable release of the current beta version. It does include some cleanups as well, for example a better support for exporting to CindyJS, our companion open source project. Also, we will no longer offer licenses for Cinderella, but all features will be available for free.

Thank you for your continuing support – we hope that Cinderella serves your interactive visualisation needs for another 20 years! (yes, the first commercial version of Cinderella has been released in 1998!)

The pro version of Cinderella is going to be free for everybody soon. This enables you to use all features, including physics simulation and scripting, without a license. You can still order a personal license at the reduced price of 10 US$ or 7,50 € that will personalize your copy of Cinderella and makes it possible to put a copyright on your constructions. You will find the free pro version of Cinderella in the download area soon, please allow a few days while we prepare it.

To celebrate the 12th anniversary of Cinderella we now offer Cinderella 1.4 as a free download to everybody. Of course, we still recommend to use Cinderella.2, but Cinderella 1.4 still offers some features you cannot find elsewhere, like multiple Euclidean and non-Euclidean views.

Do you own a recent Apple Powerbook or MacBook (Pro)? Then you can try out the new beta version of Cinderella.2 that uses the sudden motion sensor on these machines. With the help of this sensor, Cinderella.2 supports “real” gravity in physics simultations. Mathematical Year 2008 in Germany

Did you know? In Germany, 2008 is the Year of Mathematics! Cinderella joins celebrations, for example with a contribution in the interactive exhibition Imaginary 2008 of the Mathematical Research Institute Oberwolfach (MFO).

Extended School License extended to Teacher Education

The popular and attractive Extended School License (all teachers and students may use Cinderella.2 at school and at home for just € 199 (+ VAT where applicable)) is now also available for instituions in teacher education. All lecturers and teacher students may use Cinderella.2 on campus or at home.

It took a long time, but we are happy to finally announce the release of Cinderella.2. Starting today, you can download Cinderella.2 and buy a license for only 59 US$. For the first time we are also able to offer an extended school license - with this license all students and teachers of a school may use Cinderella.2 at home and at school, and this at only 199 € (local prices may vary, VAT might be added, see order form for exact price).

A sampler of Cinderella.2 applications. Cinderella.2 can be used in very different areas of mathematics and physics. The sampler contains 35 examples and shows applets that cover usages in geometry, calculus, discrete mathematics, chaos theory, fractals, mechanics, and multi-body simulation.

Today we are going public with our current version of Cinderella.2. There are still some rough edges, and we are working hard to fix all remaining bugs and to finish all new features.

We want to give you - our users - the opportunity to take part in these last steps before we can release Cinderella.2. Therefor, we begin a Public Beta Test - this means, everybody can download the pre-release beta of Cinderella and test it.

Cinderella.2 at the Future Market of CeBit 2005!

Visit our booth at the Future Market in Halle 9, A60, of CeBit 2005 in Hannover, Germany. The Technical University of Berlin / DFG Research Center Matheon and the Technical University of Munich show the “Classroom of the Future”. We present Cinderella.2 and its new features, like physics simulation and electronic whiteboard/Tablet PC support.

As you might have noticed, there was not much activity on the cinderella.de website recently. It was just too much work to keep it current. In order to change this and to improve our user support, we decided to switch a powerful content management system called TikiWiki. We hope that you like the new layout and content!

The old contents of cinderella.de have been preserved.
