Printing quality

Love the program, and I haven't had any of the problems mentioned here (thank God)...BUT I need to export Cinderella graphics files to Word documents, and when I do, the quality diminishes considerably. For example, the edges are jagged in K-regular graphs and the like.

I've tried exporting the constructions as different files (.jpg, .png, etc.), but it looks the same in my documents. I even had to open and edit them in Photoshop in order to change the grey background (to white)---the grey background saves with the exporting technique---and I even sharpened them up and edited the levels, all to no avail. I then checked the "anti-aliasing" box, but the graphs printed the same way.

The constructions only look good printed directly from the program file (through "file" and "print"), and I can't do that when I need to move graphics around and place them within text and things. It would also be nice to change the font of the text tool.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Convert PDF to WMF

Hi,

I forgot the following: Using pstoedit (see http://www.pstoedit.net/pstoedit) you can convert the PDF into WMF (Windows Metafile) format, and then you can easily embed it into Word documents on Windows. On the Mac, PDF should be usable without the conversion.

Chicagotheory,

sorry - I missed your post. You should export to PDF — using that vector-based format you will be able to enjoy the best print quality.

Does this help to solve your problem?

Font & textsize are editable in the next release, which is currently in beta (http://beta.cinderella.de/public) - this will be a free upgrade for Cinderella 2.0.
