How can I force the point size to be small when creating a new point?

Currently, the only way for me to change point size is to alter the points after creation using information...

In Cinderella 1.4, you change the default appearance in the Appearance Editor which is available in the Edit menu. In Cinderella 2, you change the default appearance in the Inspector, in the default setting tab. See Inspector in the manual.
