Cindybugs (1): invisible transformationpanels
|
|
I'm using Cinderella with 11th - 12th grade pupils. Some minor quirks of the program can be really annoying for young, inexperienced users. One of these quirks I noticed:
In the inspector window, defaults section, choose for new objects to appear unlabeled.
Now define a new transformation, e.g. a translation between two previously defined points A and B (with or without a label).
Although the preliminary steps (choose pre-image point, drag white arrow, etc.) proceed as usual, no transformation panel appears. So you cannot apply the newly defined transformation.
Change the default setting so that newly defined objects do have labels.
Now define another translation: everything works as expected.
Try to redefine the first translation from points A to B: no transformationpanel appears.
So it seems that the translation from A to B does exist (C. refuses to define the same translation twice) but is inaccessible. It is not the case that the panel is simply invisible: showing all invisible objects makes no difference.
Btw: can I post messages with attachments? So I could provide some example files?
